Bike MS: Tour to Tanglewood 2018
We’ve formed a team for Bike MS because we want to experience a great ride and help the National MS Society fund research, advocate for change and help people with MS live their best lives. We believe in this cause. Can we count on your support?
Bike MS is a physical challenge for cyclists of every level, but it’s so much more than just a ride. The camaraderie, passion, and memories that come from sharing this experience with our team will stay with us for a lifetime. Bike MS is a weekend-long and LIFE-long opportunity to make a difference in your own life, and in the world. It’s a group effort that transcends personal accomplishment and touches the lives of the thousands of people affected by MS in our community. Join us! It’s more than a ride—it’s Bike MS.

Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling, disease of the central nervous system that interrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Millions of people are affected by MS and the challenges of living with its unpredictable symptoms, which range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS.
Join our team!
Your gift helps support cutting-edge research and programs and services for everyone impacted by MS. Ending MS means no one will receive an MS diagnosis again. Every dollar helps. Every connection matters.
Pastoral Care is collecting clothing for one of our parishioners who has recently moved and is in dire need of a few clothing items. Needs include men’s medium size shirts and size 40 waist pants. He is in need of 4-6 sets of each of these items. Any help at all with this need is appreciated. Please place the clothing in the bin located by the table in the Parish Hall next to the Vestry Room.
Your Help is Needed
In memory of our dear parishioner, Michael Haywood, whose birthday is in August, St. Anne’s will be filling “blessing bags” for the homeless. The Outreach Committee asks two things of the Parish
1. Help us collect the following items: men’s and women’s deodorant, white cotton socks for men and women, shampoo, conditioner, shelf stable snacks, water bottles, hand sanitizer
2. AND please come to help assemble the bags on August 12 following the church service
Please include ethnic hygiene products in your donations. There are three collection baskets, one for men, one for women, and one generic in the rear of the Parish Hall. Our goal is to create 100 bags.
Shopping Hints from Marie
If you are like me, you want your dollar to go as far as it can and yet be put to good use. This past week, I’ve been looking around for items to go into the blessing bags for the homeless. I’ve made a short list below of items that I’ve found.
Family Dollar Store has a 3-pack of hand sanitizer for $1. They also have individually packed snacks 4 in a box for $1 – items like mini fudge stripe cookies and cheese crackers.
Dollar Tree has peanut butter crackers 6-pack for $1 and other similar snacks.
At Aldi you can purchase a can of Vienna sausage for 42 cents, fruit cups 4/$1.39, applesauce comes 6 to a pack for less than $2; soft cereal bars naturally flavored 8 individually wrapped for $1.35.
I could put one of each item listed in a bag and have spent only $2.20. Not a bad return on my hard earned money. Thanks for helping out. Let’s fill up those bins!
