Inspired by the Episcopal Church's work on Creation Care, we'll explore the ways scripture and liturgy describe a role for humans as stewards of creation and the ways in which we have left that ideal. We'll talk about practical ways that the church can be a witness to a healthier order, because after all, merely "surviving" is well short of God's hope for us. We'll also have an open dialogue about the connections between creation care, social justice ministries, and our formation as Christians. The series will close with a session on Rogation Days: a way of reconnecting in worship with the natural cycles of the created world. Sessions will be led by Matthew Phillips, Stan Meiburg (former deputy administrator of the EPA), and the Rev. Lucy Strandlund.
