Welcome to St. Anne’s! We are an inclusive and progressive congregation that is growing and would like to have you grow with us! Here is some information we hope you will find useful.

What should I wear?
We are a casual congregation and invite you to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. You will see people wearing a range of attire from suits to jeans to cultural attire.
What should I do when I arrive?
When you arrive, enter the church through the red door in front of the church on Fairlawn Drive. A greeter will welcome you and direct you to an usher at the sanctuary entrance. The usher will offer you a bulletin and help you find a seat.
If you would like to find out about church activities or community events, please take one of the weekly announcements available on our credenza inside the front door inside the narthex.
We invite you to complete the guest info sheet. If you provide an email address, we will email you the weekly and special event announcements.
I have not attended an Episcopal Service. What do I need to know?
We use several different books during our services, which you can find under the chair seat in front of you. The red book is the Book of Common Prayer (BCP), the Anglican prayer book from which our rites and services come. The blue book is The Hymnal 1982 from which our service music and hymns come. We often sing music from a second hymnal, Lift Every Voice and Sing (LEVAS), an African-American hymnal. Our service bulletin will tell you which to use. The hymn board on the wall behind the lectern lists the hymns and service music that will be sung during each service. Don’t hesitate asking anyone around you if you have questions.
What opportunities do I have to meet church members?
We hold coffee hours in the Parish Hall following each of the services, which provide a wonderful opportunity for you to spend some time with our members and other visitors. We also hold a Wednesday night potluck supper the second Wednesday of each month in the Parish Hall.
What do I do if I want to join St. Anne’s?
If you are moving from or attending another church and wish to join St. Anne’s, simply ask your previous parish for a letter of transfer. We will notify you once the letter is received and ask you to complete a Member form for our records. Once you become a member, you will receive access to the Member Log-in section of the website, which is password protected.
If you aren’t a member of an Episcopal church or are unaffiliated with any church, you are welcome to join St. Anne’s. Please contact our Rector, The Rev. Ginny Wilder, for questions regarding this process at 336-768-0174 or [email protected].
Are there any special opportunities for newcomers to learn more about the church and its members?
St. Anne’s has a strong community spirit. Twice a year, we hold newcomer luncheons, and several of our founding members hold Porch lunches for a more informal welcome to the St. Anne’s family. Dinner groups are quite popular and held throughout the year. Newcomer classes are offered periodically by the Rector – specific dates are listed in the weekly announcements.
How can I to get involved with the church?
There are many ways to be involved at St. Anne’s. Explore the serve section of the website for more details.
